Save the club a few $$$ on printing and postage. This is the second month of email newsletters to those who signed up. If you have a WORKING email address then you should have received a message from me in December asking if you want to receive the newsletter by email. So far about 85+ members have said yes to email newsletters, some said no and that's OK, no worries. The rest of you who want newsletters by email and haven't already responded, you can send me a message with your name and club numbers to this link...Newsletter Email and I will put you on the list.

Winter Closures...Stuff you Need to Know

Rain is here...no need for a weather forecast. It has been raining. Who know how much more rain we will have but one thing we do know for sure, it will probably keep raining off and on over the next couple of months and when it does riding at the Ranch will be closed for periods of time depending on how much rain and how many days of rain. So, whenever there is 1/2" (0.50") of rain or more in one day we are required to close the Ranch to riding for a certain period of time (depends upon how much rain fall). The trails committee does whatever it can to get at least some portion of the trail system open once a dry period occurs.

Things you need to know if you are new or have a selective memory:

1) When it rains and you want to ride, call the Ranch Hotline (415) 455-5418 to see if the trails are open or closed.

2) If you are caught riding while the Ranch is closed, you will be suspended or possibly have your membership terminated.

3) When the Ranch does open during the winter, stay on the OPEN trails

4) Ride cautiously. Conditions change big time during the winter. Trails move, or are washed out, roots and mud are slickery and bad things can happen in a big hurry.
